COUGH: it is a symptom of respiratory problems, and is usually caused by inflammation of the bronchi, mainly due to bacterial or viral infections, which occur with great frequency in the winter. The cough may be more or less persistent, especially during bed rest, and can be dry (with little sputum production) or productive (with abundant sputum production). Cigarette smoking and environmental pollutants also aggravate the disease and slow its healing.
USEFUL PLANTS: Althaea officinalis (Altea), Glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice), Malva officinalis (Mauve), Papaver rhoeas (Red Poppy), Polygala virginiana (Poligala), Pinus species (pine of different species), Propolis.
