FLUID RETENTION: is characterized by an increased deposition of fluids in the tissues, which is usually more pronounced at the lower parts of the body like the ankles because of gravity. Certain diseases promote the retention of liquids, such as veno-lymphatic insufficiency, obesity and heart failure.

OBESITY AND OVERWEIGHT: is a disease characterized by a progressive increase in body weight due to the accumulation of fat in the adipose tissue. A person can be called obese if his actual weight is at least 30% superior than his ideal weight. But when the actual weight exceeds the ideal of a percentage of between 5 and 29% it is possible to define it overweight. In most cases obesity is due to excessive ingestion of food, especially high calorie foods such as cakes, while are also involved genetic, environmental, endocrine and social issues. Obesity is a major risk factor for many other diseases, particularly heart diseases.
