PHARYNGOTONSILLITIS: are inflammatory diseases of the throat and tonsils particularly common in the cold season, usually caused by bacteria, viruses and fungi. Typical symptoms include burning in the throat, dry mucous membranes, difficulty in swallowing especially solid foods, and often fever. The structures of the throat (uvula, tonsils and tonsillar pillars) are red and sometimes there is the appearance of small whitish points on the tonsils. Cigarette smoking and environmental pollutants also aggravate the disease and slow its recovery.
USEFUL PLANTS: Althaea officinalis (Altea), Echinacea angustifolia or purpurea (Echinacea), Eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus), Clove (cloves), Malpighia punicifolia (Acerola), Malva officinalis (Mauve), Olea europaea (Olive), Propolis , Ribes nigrum (blackcurrant), Rosa canina (Dog rose), Thymus species (Thyme), Uncaria tomentosa (Cat’s claw).
